Why Indian Army Chief arrives Kathmandu?

NarvaneManoj Mukunda Narwane the Indian Army Chief  has visited Pashupatinath on Wednesday afternoon. Narwane had landed in Kathmandu on Wednesday afternoon with his  special Indian Air Force aircraft, the Indian Air Force-33. His plane had landed at Tribhuvan International Airport at 11.40 am in the morning. According to the Nepal Army, Narwane had come along with four members, including his wife.

Some have thought that Naravane’s visit could be for rectify some political issue between the two countries and he might have  Indian government’s message to Nepal.

In fact, Nepal and India have a old tradition of honoring each other's army chiefs. And the main purpose of this visit is to receive honorary 'Maharathi' of Nepal Army from president Bidya Devi Bhandari. However, this visit has received attention of Kathmandu and Delhi as their have serious border issue for a long time.

Naravane will return back  to New Delhi on Friday, After meeting Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli and his counterpart Purna Chandra Thapa.
