Bhandari reelected as precedent of Nepal

Bidhya Devi Bhandari who is the first woman president was again re-elected on Tuesday for a second term in office. Incumbent President Bhandari defeated Nepali Congress leader Kumari Laxmi Rai with havy mafority in the residential election.

56 years Bhandari has the back support of ruling left alliance of the CPN-UML and CPN (Maoist Centre), the Sanghiya Samajbadi Forum-Nepal and other fringe parties.In 2015 she got a chance to become the first woman president in Nepal.

In the Federal Parliament there were 148 lawmakers and in provincial assemblies there were 243 member. Among them the CPN-UML has a total vote of 23,356. while CPN Maoist has 65 lawmakers in parliament and 108 in provincial assemblies.

which means they have 10,319 votes. similarly Nepali Congress has 76 seats in parliament and 113 in provincial assemblies which accounts total 11,428 vote. while Sanghiya Samajbadi Forum-Nepal and other fringe parties also going to support Bhandari, which means she easily get 26,921 votes for her re-election. An electoral college, including members of parliament and provincial assemblies, will vote in the election.
